The Lokoja Journal of Information Science Research (LJISR), a bi-annual, peer-reviewed, and Gold Open Access publication of the Department of Library and Information Science at the Federal University Lokoja, Nigeria, is pleased to invite scholarly submissions for its upcoming issue. LJISR serves as a prestigious forum for the dissemination of high-quality research, innovation, and discourse within the field of library and information science.

Journal Scope and Thematic Areas

We welcome original, unpublished manuscripts that offer novel insights and substantial academic contributions. The journal's scope is broad, covering both theoretical and practical aspects of the discipline. We particularly encourage submissions on, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Librarianship and Library Management

  • Information Science and Data Management

  • Big Data, Digital Scholarship, and Scholarly Communication

  • Digital and Information Literacy

  • Combating Fake News and Misinformation

  • Digital Information Systems and Knowledge Management

  • The application of Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies in libraries and information centers

  • Information Services and user studies in various library settings (academic, public, special, etc.)

  • Archival studies, records management, and preservation of information

 

Submission Guidelines

All manuscripts must adhere to the journal's submission policies and formatting requirements. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines may be returned to the authors.

  • Manuscript Length: Full-length manuscripts should be between 3,500 and 7,500 words. Brief communications are also encouraged and should not exceed 1,500 words.

  • Formatting: Use a standard, single-column layout with double spacing. The font should be Times New Roman, 12pt.

  • Abstract & Keywords: The manuscript must include an abstract of 200 to 500 words that concisely summarizes the purpose, methodology, findings, and implications of the research. Following the abstract, provide informative keywords that are not present in the title.

  • Citations: Authors must strictly adhere to the APA 7th Edition style for all in-text citations and the reference list.

  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
